He promised that he would study. (Él me prometió que estudiaría.) They swore they had never seen him before. (Juraron que no lo habían visto antes.) He told me he had seen the movie. - (Me dijo que había visto la película.) She said that she would study more. (Me dijo que estudiaría más.) 1
2 She said that she hadn t seen them. (Dijo que no los habían visto.) He said that we would meet later. (Dijo que nos veríamos más tarde.) He said that he could swim.
E.g.) Direct Speech: (Discurso directo:) He said, I m going to school tomorrow. (Él dijo, Voy a ir a la escuela mañana ) Reported Speech: (Discurso indirecto:) He said he was going to school the next day. Utilizamos to tell" o to say" como Reporting verbs. Se usan a menudo cuando se alterna de Discurso Directo a Discurso Reportado, excepto para el siguiente caso: He said to me, I love you. (Él me dijo, Te quiero. ) He told me he loves me. E.g.) I don t know where to go! she says. ( No sé a donde ir! dice ella.) She says she doesn t know where to go.
